The DesignAdvertise Canva app connects your governed creative library directly to the Canva editor. Browse ad creatives, import brand assets, and publish finished designs back to your DesignAdvertise workspace — all without leaving Canva.
Installing the app
- Open Canva and navigate to the Apps panel
- Search for 'DesignAdvertise'
- Click Install to add the app to your workspace
- Open any design and launch the DesignAdvertise app from the sidebar
Authentication
The first time you open the app, you'll sign in with your DesignAdvertise account. Authentication uses a secure JWT handoff — your password is never shared with Canva. Sessions last 30 minutes and can be refreshed without re-entering credentials.
Importing creatives
Your DesignAdvertise creative library appears as a gallery inside the Canva editor. Each creative shows the headline, visual, and campaign it belongs to. Click any creative to insert it into your current Canva design. Brand colors, logos, and copy are preserved.
Publishing back to DesignAdvertise
When you finish editing in Canva, use the Content Publisher intent to push the design back to your DesignAdvertise creative library. The published design becomes available for campaign use across all connected ad platforms.
Data connector
The Canva Data Connector lets you use DesignAdvertise campaign data (headlines, descriptions, brand info) as dynamic fields in Canva's bulk-create workflows. This is useful for generating multiple ad variations from a template.
Security model
- DesignAdvertise is the system of record — Canva is a read/import surface
- Assets are served via presigned S3 URLs that expire with the session
- No creative data is permanently stored on Canva's servers
- All imports respect your brand governance rules
- OAuth tokens are scoped and time-limited (handoff: 5 min, session: 30 min)
